What to Ask Before Booking a Private Venue

What to Ask Before Booking a Private Venue

Before you put down a deposit on any private venue, here's the list we wish every host walked in with.

What's your rain plan? Outdoor venues should have a clear backup. Tent options, indoor space, or a rescheduling policy — know it before you sign.

Are outside vendors allowed? Some venues require you to use their preferred caterers and bartenders. Others are flexible. Both are fine — just know what you're signing up for.

What time does the music need to end? Local noise ordinances vary. Make sure your venue's hard cutoff matches the party you're imagining.

What's included vs. extra? Tables, chairs, setup, cleanup, parking — get a written list. "All-inclusive" means different things to different venues.

Who's on-site the day of? You want a real human there to handle hiccups, not just a key in a lockbox. Ask who runs your event.
